Taambe Marketplace Policies
These marketplace-wide policies help keep Taambe useful, safe, and fair. They are platform rules and are not a complete statement of the law.
Seller classifications and allowances
- Individual is a primary seller classification for sellers operating in a personal capacity. Marketplace allowances are configured by Taambe policy and may change.
- Retailer is a primary seller classification for registered businesses. Approved Retailers may receive business-focused tools and configurable marketplace allowances.
- Student and Charity are additional verified statuses. They do not replace your primary classification, Identity Verification, or marketplace rules.
Listing quality
- Use original photographs of the actual item you are selling. Misleading, stock, copied, or AI-generated images that do not show the real item are not allowed.
- Describe the item accurately, including its condition, defects, and any important details a buyer needs to know.
- Duplicate or near-identical listings may be limited or removed so buyers can find distinct offers.
- Prohibited, illegal, counterfeit, unsafe, or restricted items are not allowed on Taambe.
Prohibited and restricted items
The following categories of items are not allowed. This list is not exhaustive — if an item is illegal or unsafe, it is not permitted.
- Weapons, explosives, ammunition, and related accessories
- Illegal drugs, controlled substances, and drug paraphernalia
- Counterfeit, replica, or trademark-infringing goods
- Stolen goods or items obtained through fraud
- Hazardous materials, toxic chemicals, and unsafe products
- Any adult content or services involving minors (zero tolerance)
- Live animals (no exceptions)
- Any item whose sale is illegal in the seller’s or buyer’s jurisdiction
- Listings that promote illegal activity, scams, or off-platform payments
Verification
- Identity Verification confirms the seller's identity, supports fraud prevention, and may be required before selling. Approval helps build trust but does not publish legal identity details.
- Retailer Verification confirms that a Store operates as a registered business. Approval may provide Retailer Verified status, higher configurable marketplace allowances, and business-focused tools; it does not change which products may be sold, and Identity Verification remains separate where required.
- Student Verification confirms current enrollment at an eligible educational institution. Approved users receive an additional Student Verified status and may qualify for configurable student benefits; it does not replace Identity Verification or change what may be sold.
- Charity Verification confirms that an applicant represents an eligible registered charity or nonprofit. Approved applicants receive an additional Charity Verified status and may qualify for configurable charity benefits; it does not replace Identity Verification.
- Verified badges and statuses show only an approved public-safe status. They do not disclose documents, legal identity details, or private application information.
Listing allowances and publishing limits
- Active-listing allowances are platform settings, not legal limits. The effective allowance shown in Marketplace Status is authoritative for your account.
- Daily publishing limits use a rolling 24-hour window and are configured by marketplace policy. A limit can change as your applicable policy or verified status changes.
- Taambe may review activity that appears commercial to ensure the appropriate seller classification and marketplace requirements are used. A review does not by itself make a legal determination about a seller.
Marketplace enforcement and appeals
- Taambe may limit, remove, or review listings, accounts, or marketplace features when these policies are broken. Internal fraud and safety signals are not published.
- You may contact support to appeal an enforcement decision and provide relevant context. An appeal does not guarantee a different outcome.
Verification Data Privacy and Confidentiality
This section applies to Identity, Retailer, Student, and Charity verification applications.
- Verification documents and application data are treated as confidential and used for verification, compliance, fraud prevention, marketplace safety, dispute handling where necessary, and related legitimate operational purposes.
- They are not displayed publicly. Buyers, other sellers, and ordinary users cannot access them.
- Access is limited to authorized staff with the permissions needed for their work.
- Verification data is not sold or used for third-party marketing.
- Disclosure may occur where required by law or a lawful authority, or to necessary service providers operating under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
- A public badge reveals only the approved verification status, never the underlying documents or private identity information.
